Brink performed and was employed at bars and coffee shops while she was looking for the perfect band. She was a part of an audition and was reunited with Chris Howorth two years after having met him. Howorth did not want to take her on due to the fact that she was female. He quickly changed his opinion and even apologized for his decision after listening to her performance. The name of the group had been changed In This Moment after two performances.
